A freediving workshop with Brennan Hatton — Professional & Competitive Freediver
In collaboration with Deep South Freediving
Your breathhold isn’t limited by your lungs — it’s limited by your minds connection to your body. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how mindfulness and body awareness techniques used by competitive freedivers can dramatically extend your time underwater and transform your comfort with discomfort.
Brennan will guide you through practical techniques for tuning into your body’s signals, consciously releasing tension, and staying calm when every instinct says breathe. These aren’t abstract meditation concepts — they’re field-tested tools that work at depth and translate directly into everyday life, from high-pressure work situations to personal relationships.
What you’ll learn:
– How to scan your body and identify hidden tension that’s burning your oxygen
– Conscious relaxation techniques you can apply before and during a breathhold
– Working with the urge to breathe rather than fighting it
– How mindfulness practice on land translates to performance in the water
These are skills to be used beyond freediving in everyday life, from dealing with stressful workplace environments, personal relationships, and improving sleep.
Who it’s for:
Freedivers of all levels — from curious beginners to experienced divers looking to break through a plateau. No prior freediving or mindfulness experience needed.
